-CINCO DE MAYO- Margarita made simpler at home
Updated: May 13, 2020

Now who doesn't love to celebrate Cinco De Mayo, especially when it falls on Taco Tuesday! Remember to keep things simple and healthy to enjoy the balance!
We have been making our own margaritas from scratch at home to save on the calories and it just taste overall better than store mix.
DeSalvo House Margarita
-1oz of Cointreau
-2 oz of tequila
-1 oz of freshly squeeze limed juice
-0.25 oz of simple syrup
-ice
-Shake, strain into glass, garnish & drink
To make a specific flavor
Just muddle in some fresh raspberries and/or strawberries to add natural flavor
To make simple syrup
equal parts 1:1 (1 part sugar to 1 part water)
-boil water first
-when water is at a boil add sugar
-when sugar is dissolved let the syrup cool before placing in storage container
-can be kept in fridge 2-3 weeks
Garnish of choice
-salt on rim (best way is to drizzle a little of the simple syrup on rim of glass then dip on a plate of salt before pouring in your margarita)
-no salt
To make it a "SKINNY" Margarita
-skip the simple syrup and muddle some extra fruit for sweet taste OR skip all natural sugar all together!
Have a happy and safe Cinco De Mayo
-Drink Responsibly-
